The Nine Martyrs of Cyzicus were a group of nine martyrs who in the last decades of the third century were martyred in the city of Cyzicus in Asia Minor for upholding their faith in Jesus Christ. They included Thaumasius, Theognes, Rufus, Antipater, Theostichus, Artemas, Magnus, Theodotus, and Philemon. The Nine Martyrs are commemorated on April 29 .

The steadfast and most splendid choir of the nine martyrs,
who confessed the three-Sunned Godhead,
cried out to Him at the tribunal:
"O Master, we offer our blood, souls and bodies to thee as an unblemished sacrifice!
Number us among Thy heavenly choir, in that Thou art our merciful God!"
