Keeping watch with the eye of thy soul, O holy hierarch,
thou didst show thyself to be a vigilant pastor for the world,
and with the staff of thy wisdom and thy fervent intercession
thou didst drive away all the heretics like wolves,
preserving the flock unharmed,
