Our Holy Mother Matrona of Constantinople

For the love of the Lord, O venerable Matrona,
thou didst ignore thy desire for rest,
illumining thy spirit with fasting;
by thy supplications cast down the arro­gance of the adversaries, for mightily didst thou vanquish the wild beasts.
